British Energy is one of the main elecricity providers within the UK. British Energy has a total of eight nuclear power stations. Seven are Advanced Gas-Cooled Reactor power stations. The eighth station is a Pressurised Water Reactor. There is also one coal fired station. The challenge for British Energy or any business with high capital plant is to improve efficiency and reliability of the plant. As part of this effort Plant Integrity Branch at Barnwood are involved in the development of two major Procedures named R5 and R6. These Procedures together with computer software are sold and  used around the world.
